Google partners with Xiaomi and OPPO to bring Gemini's AI experience to more non-Pixel phones

In addition to Samsung's Galaxy and Moto's Razr phones, Google will soon extend the AI capabilities of Gemini to more non-Pixel products. The latest partners in this initiative are Chinese manufacturers Xiaomi and OPPO. During a recent developer conference in Beijing, Google announced a deep collaboration with these two companies. According to Tang Kai, President of OPPO's Software Engineering Division, they will leverage their self-developed AI technology "in combination with the Gemini model" to launch a series of AI features in the global market. Examples he provided include recording summaries, article summarization, text generation, and voice reading, which are already included in the international version of ColorOS 14.

The specifics of Xiaomi's partnership were not disclosed, but they will also actively adopt Google Cloud technologies alongside Gemini. It's worth noting that these features are exclusive to international versions of the products. For models sold domestically in China, both Xiaomi and OPPO have already implemented similar functionalities using their own large language models.
